My toddler grandson Jett is a big fan of Sprout TV’s Thomas & Friends show. He knows all the characters, his favorites are Thomas and Percy. Right now he lives and breathes Thomas!

What you may ask is a Day Out With Thomas? It’s fun for the entire family, whether or not you’re an avid Thomas fan. It’s an event by HIT Entertainment where a real Thomas the Tank Engine comes to a real railroad station and gives his fans a ride.
Events are scheduled around the country and sometimes features his buddy Percy the Small Engine.
During the event, which is hosted at a railroad museum or other such venue, the day is devoted to Thomas and his friends. Booths are set up at the venue. Kids can go and listen to stories, watch videos, get tatoos, play with Thomas toys, do arts & crafts, and more. Parents, and kids, can take photos with Thomas and meet with Sir Topham Hatt the Director of Sodor Railway. You buy Thomas souvenirs which are available only at the event. But the main event begins when the “real” Thomas arrives pulling his coaches behind him. When the engine arrives he stops for pictures and talks to his fans. Then everyone boards the coaches for a ride aboard the train. Both kids and adults love it!
Jett loved the day with Thomas. The look on his face when he saw the engine chugging towards him is priceless. Even though he just turned 2 he remembers his day out with his buddy Thomas and still talks about it. It was so worth the ticket price and the drive out to the station.
Tickets start at about $17 and can be purchased online. If this is something you want to do I’d recommend purchasing your tickets way in advance. The website publishes a yearly calendar of when and where Thomas will be. It’s not too late to purchase tickets for the year, there are still a few places around the country where Thomas will be, if not wait for next year’s schedule to be published.
