Breakfast With Santa @ The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Hotel 2012

Ever since my kids were small we have always gone to a meal with Santa.  Back in the 80’s Breakfast and Lunch with Santa was held at the function room of Liberty House, the department store which is now Macy’s.

My girlfriends and I would take our kids for this annual event then spend the rest of the day Christmas shopping at the Mall.  Now that we all have grandchildren we’ve continued this Christmas Tradition.  Those of us still on the island get together every year to take the grown kids with their babies!  We always have a great time!

It’s something we all look forward to, kids and adults.  The last few years I’m only aware of 2 venues for this event. The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Hotel has Breakfast with Santa only 2 days a year, and Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii hosts a yearly at the Pomaika’i Ballroom at Dole Cannery; proceeds benefit the organization.

Yesterday I learned that Neiman Marcus Ala Moana is also hosting a Breakfast with Santa at Mariposa,  their third floor restaurant.  The dates are December  13 & 20.  Cost is $42 adults $38 kids 3-11.  It will be a plated festive meal created by Executive Chef Marc Anthony Freiberg.  As of this writing he is still working on the menu.  The will email me the menu as soon as it’s ready.  I have also been put on the reservation list and we’ve yet to decide between this one or the Outrigger.

We usually attend the Outrigger breakfast buffet $27 adults, $14 children 5-11, kids under 5 are free.  They have a face painting booth and a balloon booth, and of course the price includes a picture with the Hawaiian Santa.

The brunch benefiting Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii is $35 for 10+, and $25 children 2-9.  They have a brunch buffet, picture taking with Santa, live entertainment, arts & crafts, face painting, games & activities for children, costumed characters, bake sale, craft vendors and more.  We’ve never been able to attend this event, the dates never work out.  This year’s event is on December 13.  Click here for more info!

I know events such as these are held everywhere.  I did a search and found them in many communities across the country.  Here are a few I found, if you don’t see one near you just do a search in your area, I’m sure you’ll find something.  Make your reservations as soon as possible as they are going fast, some are even sold out!

If you’re in the Phoenix area you can attend the Breakfast with Santa at Rico’s American Grill at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort.  The resort’s annual Breakfast with Santa will be offered over four days at Rico’s American Grill. Guests will enjoy seasonal photos with Santa and holiday story time, while Mrs. Claus treats children to whimsical cookie decorating, gingerbread activity books, and a tasty breakfast buffet.  For more info click here!
