I love Theme Parks! When my kids were young we’d pack up a van and do a yearly family road trip from coast to coast. It took us a month but it was a great way to see our beautiful country. Along our route we made sure to stop at a theme park or two, it made the trip more fun for the kids.
My husband would refuse to ride the roller coasters, insisting someone had to watch our stuff and take our pictures. I ended up on all the roller coasters with the kids. I have to admit I rode them with eyes closed and screaming at the top of my lungs! Looking back it was lots of fun!
Here are some of the theme parks we visited. We’ll have to take the grandkids to in the near future.
Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Virginia.
This theme park has several roller coasters including the Alpengeist and Apollo’s Chariot. I rode both. I remember we sat in the last car of Apollo’s Chariot and my butt was off the seat whenever we rode the downward slope, only thing holding me in was my tight grip on the bar across my lap.[spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Universal Studios Islands of Adventure, Orlando, Florida.
An amazing place! The Spider Man ride was awesome! It’s my all time favorite ride!
Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, California.
Always drove by it, but never went in. Will have to stop by next time we’re in the area with the kids.[spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Knott’s Berry Farm, Buena Park, California.
Rode the Boomerang here, it was my first roller coaster that did loops. Left my knees weak![spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey.
I grew up in New York city, this was one of the parks we went to. Rode my first roller coaster here. I think it was a wooden one, it may have been the El Toro.[spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Hersheypark, Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Chocolates and roller coasters, what more can a kid want? Rode all the coasters here with my kids, just remember not to gorge on chocolates before riding.[spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
Disney’s California Adventure Park, Anaheim, California.
It’s a Disney park, what more can I say. We were there with the kids and grand kids, we had an awesome time![spacer height=”20px” id=”2″]
While you’re there hop over next door to Disneyland! It’s one of our favorite theme parks!
