An Evening at the Kemah Boardwalk

Kemah

Kemah is another place we’ve been visiting for years.  We drove down for fresh shrimp and perhaps a nice lunch at one of the seafood restaurants.  These days Kemah is much more than a place to buy fresh shrimp.  They’ve added the Kemah Boardwalk, home to upscale restaurants and shops, a hotel, and a carnival midway complete with fun rides, games, and all the “junk food” we love to indulge in.  Our all time fave are the funnel cakes!

This summer we combined an evening at the Kemah Boardwalk with a half day spent at the Johnson Space Center.  It’s only 15 minutes away and worked perfectly for us.  We spent the early evening wandering the midway, riding on the carousel, swings, and train; playing games (we won several inflatable aliens and stuffed toys), and enjoying the Gulf views.

We ended the day with a wonderful dinner at the Aquarium Restaurant.  Guests dine surrounded by huge aquariums.  They serve wonderful seafood specialties and awesome desserts.  We were there on a Friday night and were fortunate enough to catch the fireworks after dinner.
